We Asked You To Tell Us About 'Your' America. Here's What You Said

Susannah Lohr
/
St. Louis Public Radio

ON THIS EPISODE ... We take a break from public policy and social systems, and instead explore different perspectives about what "My America" means to our listeners.

Several weeks ago, we started asking you to complete this sentence: "My America is ..."

Some responses were short and sweet, and some made us want to dig a little deeper. The responses also took us to some unexpected places ... like to the home of a St. Louis County woman trying to figure out how she can get involved in social justice, and to a local library where two St. Louis mothers from We Storiespick out diverse children's books for hundreds of families striking to teach their kids about race.

And, we team up with the Mash Up Americanspodcast for a frank discussion about the businesses trying to target and market diverse audiences.
